The Gourmetisers Golf Society swing in to action for Ettington Community First Responder Scheme

On 30th May at the Chequers Public House in Ettington, Members of Ettington CFR Scheme met with the Chairman of The Gourmetisers Golf Society, Mr Cecil Anderson, to receive a very welcome donation of £570. The occasion was also the first public outing of the Scheme’s Ex-West Midlands Ambulance Authority fast response vehicle since it was generously given a completely new “Battenburg” livery courtesy of Mediafleet in Witney. See here for more details.

The Gourmetisers’ Captain, Cecil Anderson said, “At each round that we play, sums of money are collected from Society members and their guests for any misdemeanours that they commit! This money is then donated to a charity chosen by the Captain for that year, and I chose the Ettington Community First Responder Scheme as it is a great and important cause – and who knows, I may need them one day!”

Ettington CFR Scheme Secretary Steve Boreham said “We are very humbled to receive such a substantial donation towards helping us maintain the level of service that we strive to deliver. It was very kind of Cecil to choose us instead of any of the countless other charities and good causes that exist, and never taking such support for granted helps keep us focused in everything that we do”.
