NFU Mutual makes £200 donation to Ettington Community First Responder Scheme

Ettington CFR Scheme is delighted to announce that NFU Mutual, based in Stratford-upon-Avon, has made a £200 donation to Ettington CFR Scheme. The donation is part of NFU Mutual’s commitment to community initiatives under its Community Giving Fund.

NFU Mutual has purchased two items of essential equipment which form part of the equipment required to equip, Michelle, our 6th First Responder who has recently qualified. The donation will purchase a specialist equipment bag and a pulse oximeter (used to measure heart rate and blood Oxygen saturation).

Beth Pritchard, Corporate Communications Executive at NFU Mutual, was really pleased to help the group. She said: “The First Responders provide an essential resource to support the emergency service. We w ere really pleased to help such an important part of our local community.”

Russ Inman, Scheme Coordinator, Ettington CFR Scheme, said; “The equipment which NFU Mutual has funded will equip our sixth First Responder and, as such, will have a significant benefit to the service that we provide. We’re very grateful for the generosity of NFU Mutual”.

West Midlands Ambulance Service recently presented three members of the team with First Responder of the Year Awards. Ian Inglesant, Community Response Manager for Coventry and Warwickshire, said: “I would like to thank NFU Mutual for their donation to the Ettington Community First Response Group. The group has come a long way over the last 12 months. They have increased the size of the team to six members and have been doing fantastic fund raising for their extra equipment.”

Ian added: “The group were given the Responder of The Year Award by the Trust for their work within the community and the help and assistance they have given to local residents in Emergency situations. Their enthusiasm for the cause is amazing and they should be extremely proud of themselves.”
